Job Summary

The Audit and Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the IT audit and assurance function within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of information technology systems, risk management, and compliance standards. The manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to assess, monitor, and improve the effectiveness of IT controls and processes.


Responsibilities and Duties 

Strategy Development & Tactical Planning

  • Contribute to the formulation of company Objectives & Key Results (OKRs), leveraging industry trends to inform a viable path.

  • Support the formulation of strategic plans & OKRs for the division.

  • Develop, operationalize, and manage tactical plans for the domain such that business outcomes are seamlessly & consistently achieved.

Domain Service Delivery

  • Establish service quality standards and build-out execution rails and monitoring mechanisms to ensure consistently high-quality outputs.

  • Lead strategic engagements to ensure favourable big impact results

  • Ensure professional development to demonstrate competence and expertise to lead a cutting - edge advancing team.

  • Perform periodic reviews to ensure the continuous improvement and relevance of domain service offerings.

  • Craft and oversee all initiatives intended to or could impact brand perception of domain services.

  • In collaboration with the Marketing team define and coordinate support for initiatives to build brand recognition for domain services and drive market share

Team Development

  • Lead the domain through exemplifying the core values of the company.

  • Develop a team to execute on current and future domain imperatives.

  • Ensure the effective implementation of agreed development and performance management processes such that desired outcomes are achieved.

  • Perform One-on-Ones at agreed intervals to ensure useful feedback and achievement of team members performance objectives.

  • Drive the development of team synergies both within and across divisions to make work easy, boost efficiency, increase productivity and support a healthy work community.

  • Timely address escalated issues that impede team/ individual performance

Business Viability

  • Ensure the management of projects to optimize project margins.

  • Identify and highlight issues that could impact the financial viability of the business.

  • Analyse domain financial and operational performance data to identify and execute on opportunities for improvement.

  • Monitor and support the growth of the domain sales pipeline.

Customer Experience

  • Ensure the effectiveness of controls that safeguard a delightful experience for both internal and external customers.

  • Handle escalated customer experience issues.

Company Reputation & Footprint

  • Be the face and brand of the service portfolio.

  • Support cross-functional / company initiatives in achievement of established strategic outcomes.

  • Support internal processes that safeguard the company’s interest

  • Ensure compliance with company risk and compliance requirements.

Requirements 

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build effective working relationships.

  • Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion and integrity.

  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and analyse information from diverse sources.

  • Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks, control frameworks, and audit methodologies.

  • Proficiency in assessing IT risks, controls, and compliance requirements across diverse technologies and environments.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.

  • Familiarity with audit tools, data analytics, and emerging technologies is a plus.

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field. 

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master’s) or professional certification (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CISM) preferred

  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in IT audit, risk management, or related field, preferably in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
