The System Engineer will install, configure, and manage on premises and cloud infrastructure to meet business objectives by ensuring optimal security, availability, and performance. The System Engineer will also configure, deploy, and provide support for hardware devices and software applications assigned to internal users and departments.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience in supporting desktop and server environments

  • BSc. in Computing, Engineering, or a similar discipline is preferred

  • Certifications from CompTIA, Cisco or Microsoft are desirable and considered an asset

  • Excellent customer service attitude

  • Responsible, accountable and takes initiative

  • Clear written and oral communication

  • Proficient time management skills

  • Strong individual performer comfortable working in a team setting

  • High attention to detail in planning, reporting and execution of assigned work

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment that is consistently evolving

Responsibilities

  • Acquire, configure, and deploy computing devices and accessories

  • Manage inventory for hardware devices

  • Install and configure software applications to suit business and user requirements

  • Manage software licenses through the assignment and tracking of software licenses

  • Configure, monitor, and support on-premises network devices to provide local and Internet network services

  • Create IaaS and PaaS cloud virtual machines

  • Configure SaaS cloud environments

  • Onboard users through the creation of accounts and generation of passwords

  • Offboard users through the backup and deletion of accounts

  • Provide support to users through troubleshooting and resolution of issues

  • Collaborate with Physical Security personnel to support access control and camera systems

  • Manage the ticketing system.

  • Provide first level response to security incidents and escalate as necessary

  • Create and update documentation of processes
